Direction...?
Have you lately felt lost in your own world? It's truer than ever that The times, they are a changin'!
Our world changes daily. Jobs make us change locations or sometimes our jobs must change. Families never stay the same; kids grow up, parents grow old, and unfortunately, mates leave or are tragically taken from us.
Holt Christian Church is here to help you find direction in this "maddening crowd". The church is like the eye of a storm. It is a place of comfort, acceptance, strength and security for any weary, battered traveler. We don't have all the answers, but we can introduce you to Someone who does. He can show you the way.

What Kind of Church Is This?
As a nondenominational congregation, Holt Christian Church is completely self-governing. The church of the New Testament was established by Christ through apostles and prophets.
Though apostles and prophets had a special part in the organization and establishment of the early church, they did not remain a permanent feature of church government. Instead, elders (also called pastors / shepherds and overseers), were ordained to guide individual churches. These biblical pastors were men who maintained the health and vitality of congregations they work for and with.
Other special servants (called deacons) work for the church to aid the elders. Their main purpose is to see to any immediate need of the church so that the elders can steadily maintain their work of prayer, instruction, and shepherding Christ's church.
Elders, deacons and volunteer members work in ministry teams to carry out the different missions of the church.
Holt Christian Church has also chosen to hire a preaching minister whose occupation is to help the elders, deacons and members carry out their ministries. The minister fills this role through preaching, teaching, visitation, and coordination of many aspects of the church's life.

WELCOME...
to the Holt Christian Church. We invite you to read further and discover more.
Holt Christian is a nondenominational church with roots in the American Restoration Movement. The New Testament of the Bible holds the pattern of the church founded by Christ, and Holt is trying daily to conform to that pattern.
One thing you'll notice right away is that Holt Christian Church is a church with a purpose: The Church wants to introduce you to Jesus. You'll experience His love, His forgiveness, His strength as you worship, play, and share with us. Jesus really is "The Way."
HCC began just ten years ago. Recently we completed our first building for worship, and to carry on the many activities of this church. The members love Jesus, they love one another, they love to study God's Word, and they would like for you to experience this love.

Worship
The first occasion at which many people are introduced to the Church is when it worships together. You can enter this time distressed and wandering, but soon, the music, the warmth, the reminder of Jesus' love, and hearing some "good news" will make a difference in your day that will last all week long.
During worship, beginning at 10:00 A.M. each Sunday, your children are welcome to be a part of a special time of Bible stories, singing and activities specially designed for their age and understanding. You and your children will experience friendliness and openness as you become acquainted with Holt Christian Church.

Bible Study
Worship is essential, but it is not all that we who would follow Jesus need. You're invited to discover the many other dimensions of Holt Christian that make it special. On Sunday mornings there is a Bible Study time, beginning at 9:00 A.M., for all ages.
From the tiniest baby to the oldest inquirer you will find a class looking to uncover the truth of the Bible as it applies to daily living.

Fellowship
On Sunday evenings much of what Holt Christian Church does is for the family. The children meet by age in groups where they are encouraged to develop a relationship with God. Well-trained youth leaders work in teams to provide a fun and memorable time of crafts, activities, and Bible lessons. Older kids, Jr. and Sr. High, meet to discuss how they can make a difference in their own world for God. The adults have an informal time of Bible study and sharing that focuses on making the message of the Bible both real and practical on a day to day basis.
All through the year there are special times of both sharing and service. One or two hours each week is not enough to develop the relationships we desire, and accomplish the work which Jesus gave His church to do.
There are picnics, special outings, softball and camping during the summer. There are dinners, Bible studies in homes, football and basketball games, breakfasts and planned get-togethers all year long.
